My First Rule of Design: "A successful design sparks conversation." This principle lies at the core of my creative practice, guiding every decision I make.
During the design process, I immerse myself in envisioning multiple scenarios. Questions naturally arise: How do people interact with the design? What are they wearing it for? Where does it take them—physically, emotionally, or socially? Most importantly, how does it empower them as individuals? I believe the true essence of technical apparel lies in its implicit ability to shape the wearer’s identity. It serves as a visual language, offering cues that influence how others perceive and respond to the person wearing it.
My design practice is characterized by a strong commitment to innovation and experimentation. I continuously explore function-driven apparel, conducting in-depth research on aspects such as utility and transformability while incorporating an industrial design approach into apparel design. I embrace errors as an integral part of the creative process, transforming them into new discoveries. My hands-on approach directly involves me in every step of the development phase, helping me accumulate invaluable knowledge and experience in technical garments. This process infuses my designs with a distinct creative vision.
I believe that purposeful design with longevity stems from creating functional pieces that evoke an emotional connection with the wearer while also serving as an interface to the surrounding environment. Motivated by this potential, I am excited about the opportunity to work with like-minded individuals, heading straight to the design floor to exchange ideas and collaborate on designing, constructing, and developing innovative possibilities in technical apparel. on designing, constructing, and developing innovative possibilities in technical apparel.
