‘Takuma Fujisaki’s Mogols: A Hong Kong Fashion Collaboration Project’

As a toy lover, I have always dreamed of having the opportunity to design a figure/Art Toy, so when the opportunity to collaborate with Takuma Fujisaki came up, I knew I couldn’t let it slip away.
This project is part of a Hong Kong fashion collaboration with the FIP & DIP exhibition at the DX Design Hub, a new landmark of the Hong Kong Design Centre. The task was to craft special NILAMNCE outfit for the 26cm tall MOGOL ALIEN figurines, representing a fusion of art and fashion.

PROJECT CONCEPT

This Mogol costume project draws inspiration from the design process itself, showcasing the prototyping process behind the design - the trials, errors, and iterative steps that lead to the final product. The goal is to communicate with the audience from a different angle, revealing the design journey and the designer’s creative process, rather than just presenting the polished end result.
To embody this concept, the graphics printed on the design include actual measurements and pattern details of the garment. The “REI 2014…” graphic on the hood is the serial number of the mannequin head in Nilmance design studio. The project title, N706, reflects the studio room number, adding a unique nilmance touch. These details create a distinctive Mogol, offering the audience a glimpse into the creative process.
